Jessica Colaluca

ABOUT

  • Having worked in-house at Ford, Reebok, and Timberland … Jessica “went on her own,” founding her original consultancy ( Seed ) in 2009. Through working with clients across industries, she has been fortunate to contribute in various capacities from concept and design, to strategy and implementation.

HI HUES was founded in 2020 as a new agency for a new era.

A business minded Creative, Jessica excels at cross-functional collaboration, with a proven track record in growing brand presence, designing relevant product, and creating viral content.

Having been invited to speak at conferences including MAGIC and Printsource, she has also provided trend and culture reports at global shows such as Premiere Vision.

Just as Design Seeds was a digital interpretation of Jessica’s original physical journals … she is continuing to move color forward by utilizing emerging technologies, tuning color harmonies through digital editing, and providing new processes for creating modern hues.

  • Jessica is most widely known for creating the original color inspiration site … Design Seeds.

Launched in May of 2009, the site “for all who love color” quickly grew to viral levels of popularity. While averaging 2 million pageviews a month for a decade, Jessica gained over 1.5 million followers across social.

Design Seeds has been featured in prominent publications including; USA Today, MTV Fora, HGTV, Apartment Therapy, Better Homes & Gardens magazine, Smashing Magazine, and The Huffington Post. Jessica has been included as Mashable's #3 of the 21 leading online influencers in their "must-follow Pinterest users" list, as well as Refinery29's top 10 Pinterest influencers.

  • Launched in January of 2020, HI HUES was a reimagined color inspiration site & blog focusing on modern color for a new era.

Abruptly interrupted by Covid, the HI HUES archives are a time capsule of pre-pandemic optimism, bursting with human made inspiration, photography, and color.

Although new online digital content had been stopped by abrupt circumstance, HI HUES lived on in various mediums and articulations … including a brand & client direct color service.
