Empowering, androgynous, gender-bending, and not kneeling to the dictates of the runways or objectification of the male gaze … Diane Keaton’s style is pure self-expression. A brilliant blending of couture with thrift, as well as mens’ with womenswear.

Ms. Keaton is inarguably the Influencer who brought New York City’s (women’s) streetwear style into the American fashion aesthetic. A philosophy that has endured decades, her iconic style has had a butterfly effect through generations. Billie Eilish is carrying forward the decentered ethos, and inspiring a new generation with style inspired by the CULTURE.

As the relevant shifts in zeitgeist are most commonly woman-led, this bold approach of gender-fluid, decentered style has been adopted by many of the most influential male Influencers such as Wisdom Kaye. Wisdom’s brilliance is his ability to adopt from various trends, cultures, and genres. His style is borderless, and without gender preconceptions that have dominated men’s streetwear for decades.

“I look back on Annie Hall and can’t talk about that movie without talking about the fashion, it was everything to me. I loved being able to dress like myself. My muses were the women of New York City who were walking the streets of Soho in baggy trousers and a blazer. I was layering pieces.”

A sentiment on the power of thrifting that is well understood and valued by GEN Z, Diane shared; “The Goodwill [charity shop] was our sanctuary. Mom taught my sister Dorrie and me to rummage for the best and alter if needed. We would spend hours hunting through racks for anything that had the slightest potential.”

“A coat is my version of a ballgown. A coat is perfection. It is like a cellar. I am hidden. I can relax in a coat …”
